In search of Velvetta Cheese

Cravings : Nachos and Queso

Arrrgh!!! *pulls out hair* I can't believe it! Foiled before I even begin! Arrrghhh...How am I supposed to make queso (Cheese Dip for Nachos) when there isn't a cube of velvetta cheese in the whole of Malaysia?!?!?!!?

As most of you can probably tell from this blog, I'm a person who loves to cook and who loves to eat as well. Not only that, but I'm a person who likes to try and experiment with new foods and recipies. As such one of the greatest challenges I face living in Malaysia, is locating western or european ingrediants. Especially the cheeses. You can imagine the dissapointments I have faced when getting all excited to try out a new recipe, only to have my hopes dashed by the lack of ingrediants. Not for the lack of searching for them...but by pain simple fact that the ingrediant is almost impossible to find! Granted there have been vast improvements in this area over hte past few years or so, but there is still lots to be done.

Oh for the days when I can get buy gyros, velvetta, and more just off the shelves. Till then Brie and Mozzarella will have to do...

You know your'e pathetic when...

Cravings : Siew Yuk (Roast Pork)

Ok so I've actually decided to blog a little differently then the title of my entry, but I'm gonna leave it there as a reminder of what this entry could have been. Hahahah. So any hoo.. (any hoo? Who says any hoo?) one of the youth from church passed me two free tickets to watch any GSC movie I want. Catch is it expires today. The pathetic part was gonna be that I'm taking my friend's girlfriend to the movie. Well actually its not bad, since we friends for 8 years or so before they got together. But still! The implications of it all!!! Well I did ask one other person..but well she couldn't make it. Any hoo...(There's that phrase again) it should still be a fun night...you wouldn't believe how hard it is to get people go watch something like "The Wild".

I'm also supposed to find out how I did on my job interview any day now. For those who don't know, I'm leaving my job at the end of May. Letter has been submitted and everything. Idealy I get to take a month of before resuming work. But let's see how God leads in this...:)

A Fresh Start

Cravings : Garlic Shrimp

Looks like I'm gonna give this blogging thing another go. Probably going to last all that long...but we'll see. Just been feeling that I need an outlet once again. Added bonus is, it's been so long since I closed down the blog, that I doubt anyone I know checks this anymore. Hehehehehe...

On another note...Magic the Gathering is burning a hole in my wallet again. After 8 or so odd years of not buying any cards seriously I seem to have started up again. No thanks to my buddies who have been bitten by the MTG bug. Lots of money going out, including the RM300 I'm gonna be spending for a box of cards in May. Oh well. Everyone has their vices...I just like to diversify mine.

Oh as an FYI...I seem to have taken my "brightness" to a whole new level. I am now approximately 50% brighter then before the blog went down. Even my mum is giving me pressure about this bachelorhood thing. Although I have to admit that dinner last night sorta underscored the fact that I should really start minimizing the time I spend with the "couples" until at I pair up myself. This is through no fault of their own...but sometimes I just can't help feeling like a sore thumb, like I'm a by-stander watching love pass me by. I've got great friends who still try to include me in most things we do, but the fact is it still bugs me. Not much, and not all the time...but there are moments when i look around and I wonder to myself...where is my hand to hold?
